The Clerk's Office provides corporate communications services to the municipality including the dissemination of information to departments, the public, external agencies and bodies and other levels of government.
It oversees and manages the legislative process and related activities for Council, Standing Committees and Ad Hoc Committees of Council, providing secretariat support including the preparation of agendas, minutes, reports and by-laws.
The Clerk is Returning Officer for municipal and school board elections and Division Registrar for issuing marriage and lottery licenses and registering vital statistics.
Corporate Records Management is the responsibility of the Clerk’s Office.

Closed Session Investigator
The County has appointed a Municipal Closed Session Investigator to investigate in an independent manner, on a complaint made to him or her by any person, whether the municipality or local board of the municipality has complied with the Municipal Act and Procedure By-law in respect to a meeting that was closed to the public.
