The Roads Department is divided into 3 Service Areas covering a total of 1,100 Km of roads.
Plowing and Sanding of Roads and Sidewalks
We do sidewalk snow removal and sanding of downtown Picton and Bloomfield. We contract snow removal and sanding of sidewalks in Wellington, Consecon, Hillier, Demorestville, Cherry Valley & Milford.
We plow, sand and remove snow in the following parking lots: Picton Market Square, Shire Hall, Mary St parking lot, Bloomfield parking lot, PW offices, landfill/transfer sites.
We have a patrol system to review all roads and call-in equipment as necessary to deal with snow falls, drifting snow, icing conditions, etc. This patrol covers all times outside normal working hours including weekends.
Road Surface Maintenance activities include:
