Water Efficiency

As water is a valuable resource, water efficiency measures are important. They not only preserve the source of water, but ensure potable water is used responsibly. For more information on water efficiency, choose from the links below.

Prince Edward County is committed to providing safe and high quality drinking water through maintenance and continual improvement of our treatment and distribution systems. For more information on our water quality management measures, choose from below.

Prince Edward County has four water treatment facilities and six water distribution systems. The source of water for these systems is primarily surface water with one system having a ground water source. For more information on any facility, choose from the links below.


Lead Testing

Prince Edward County is required to test municipal drinking water for lead levels in volunteer private residences and businesses from the following municipal drinking-water service areas:

• Ameliasburgh
• Bloomfield
• Carrying Place
• Consecon
• Fenwood Gardens
• Peats Point
• Picton
• Rossmore
• Wellington

Sample collection is done twice per year during the following periods:

1. December 15 to April 15
2. June 15 to October 15
