REMINDER: Property taxes due September 15

The County of Prince Edward reminds taxpayers that Tuesday, September 15 is the deadline to pay the first instalment of 2020 tax bills for all properties.

Recognizing the financial hardship caused by COVID-19, the County deferred the tax instalment due dates of June 15 and September 15 to September 15 and November 16, respectively.

The municipality mailed out the 2020 tax notices for all properties July. Failure to receive a tax notice does not absolve the property owner from any taxes due or from penalty charges for late payment. If you did not receive your tax notice, please contact Shire Hall at 613.476.2148 extension 1530.

To minimize in-person contact and avoid line-ups at Shire Hall, property owners are encouraged to use one of the alternatives to in-person payments. Those include:

• By mail, cheque, or postdated cheque
• Telephone/PC banking
• Pre-authorized payment plans
• Online through The County website

Additional information is available on The County website or by calling 613.476.2148 extension 1530 or emailing tax@pecounty.on.ca.

E-billing now available

The County of Prince Edward now offers electronic billing services for its property tax customers.

The e-bill will include the same information as a regular paper bill. Billing dates and available payment options will remain the same.

If you are interested in going paperless, please complete and submit the registration form.
